Abstract

Companies in today’s world are undergoing digital transformation to remain competitive. Certain external factors influence the process. The goal of this paper is to find the factors that are considered barriers to a higher level of digital transformation within companies. This paper presents a pilot study working with the concept of digital transformation introduced by Šimberová et al. (2022), examining qualitative and quantitative data collected from the manufacturing companies from Czechia operating with steel and identifies factors as the drivers of the digital transformation. Further, in the discussion, the paper proposes new ways to overcome the identified barriers.
