Green economy and green office concept

This research focuses on the global environmental problem – climate change. As a pathway for mitigating climate change, the author suggests a transition to “Green Office as a 4/1-day concept”. The essence of the concept is the ability to provide office workers with four working days at their office workplace and one day of work online. In the theoretical part of the article, the author argues the advantages of the concept, formulates the concept, goal, objects, and elements of the “Green Office as a 4/1-day concept”. The aim of the present research is to develop a concept for an eco-friendly office using the Latvian transport industry as an example. During the study, the author came up with the following hypotheses: Н1: Teleworkers in transport industry reduces the volume of transported goods. Н2: The number of cargo transported affects the level of СО2. Н3: The number of passengers transported in Latvia affects the volume of СО2. The author tested this concept on the basis of the PLS-SEM method using the example of the transport industry of Latvia (road freight and passenger transportation). The obtained results not confirmed first hypotheses, but confirmed other hypothesis put forward by the author.
