Abstract

The article examines additional domestic wastewater treatment methods using an iron shavings filler for phosphorus removal. To reduce the impact of eutrophication, the effectiveness of iron processing waste in phosphorus adsorption was investigated. Experiments showed that the iron shavings filler could achieve up to 95.7% phosphorus removal efficiency, and its adsorption capacity could be restored through regeneration using sodium hydroxide and sulfuric acid. The study results indicate that this method can be an effective and sustainable solution for wastewater treatment, reducing the need for chemical precipitation and minimizing environmental pollution.
