Investigation of factors of migration process

Abstract

The paper analyzes the factors affecting migration proc-esses. Discusses the main theories of labor migration, the main elements (micro-economic, macro-economic and non-economic factors) that determine the migration process. Analyzing the situation in Lithuania and the main economic indicators of 2001-2009 years (emigration and immigration trends, unemployment and employment rates and compared average salaries of Lithuania and other European Union countries) and their the main impact to the economy. In order to explore emigration process dependence on different factors, there was performed correlation regression analysis. Most emigration process determined a GDP per capita and the average monthly salary in Lithuania.
