Abstract

For the aviation sector, maintaining business continuity is an economic necessity. Airlines are contingencyoriented, and when faced with disruptions of various origins, they make decisions, the implementation of which ensures business continuity. The most important thing is to return to normal activities as soon as possible by creating prerequisites to avoid threats. Business continuity, especially in an uncertain environment, is the result of advanced planning, a competitive management team and a strategic management system. Making the right decisions is an important step towards ensuring performance. The best way to respond quickly and appropriately to incidents is to develop processes and procedures based on best practices, innovation and experience. Otherwise, it is not only money that is lost if normal operations are violated – failures cause damage to the reputation of companies. Failure to design business continuity can threaten the functioning of companies and their further development. This study aims to identify which business continuity decisions are made by airlines when trying to adapt to an uncertain environment. The first part of the article systematizes the characteristics of the uncertain environment, describes its impact on the continuity of activities and decision-making of generalization requirements. The second part presents the results of the analysis of the decisions taken to ensure the continuity of the airline companies against the background of an uncertain environment. The results of the study show the variety of continuity solutions of airlines to adapt to an uncertain environment. Comparative analysis, comparative analysis of actual cases, synthesis, systematization of scientific literature was chosen for the research.
