Assessment of blockchain technology development prospects in the financial sector

Abstract

Blockchain has been receiving a lot of attention lately. Blockchain is a fixed book that allows transactions to be executed in a decentralized manner. Blockchain-based applications are increasingly emerging, covering many areas, including financial services, reputation systems, the Internet of Things (IoT), and more. However, blockchain technology still faces a variety of challenges, such as scalability and security issues that need to be overcome. This article provides a comprehensive overview of blockchain technology. At the beginning, the concept of blockchain technology, its advantages and disadvantages are presented. It also provides a brief overview of the technical challenges and applications of this technology in the financial sector. The article conducted an expert evaluation, during which it was determined how professionals evaluate this technology. The purpose of this study is to analyse the concept of blockchain technology in the scientific literature, to determ its advantages and disadvantages, the application of the financial sector and investment opportunities in the scientific literature.
