Assessment of the causes of direct investment in the fintech sector in Lithuania

Abstract

Nowadays financial technologies, or FinTech, is often identified as one of the most innovative and fastest growing areas in the world. According to recent statistics, investment in various sectors is always growing as the bigger amounts of money are being invested. In order to Lithuania become one of the most interesting and fascinating countries for investors, there is a natural demand to identify the reasons what brings an investor to a specific sector such a financial technologies. The first part of the article analyzes the scientific literature, reviews the concept of FinTech, analyzes the factors influencing the development of the sector and examines the reasons for direct investment. The aim of this article is to identify the main reasons for investment in Lithuania based on the scientific analysis results. Performing correlation-regression methodology is seeking to elucidate and evaluate the reasons that affect direct investment in the financial technologies sector in Lithuania.
