Abstract

As natural anomalies and natural disasters increase in the world, more and more unusual weather temperature fluctuations appear. Such factors encourage each of us to think about ways we can reduce these changes in climate. This forces us to increasingly abandon reckless consumption and support sustainable consumption, which is gaining popularity around the world, in various ways. This is relevant for Lithuania and the whole world. Ecological crises and subsequent economic crises encouraged the discovery of ecology and its adaptation in various spheres and areas. Ecological ideas are not new in the field of construction either. The purpose of the article is to determine whether the use of electronic media influences the increase in popularity of green housing. One of the international requirements and Lithuania’s obligations is the promotion of the energy efficiency of buildings (European Commission, 2021). This is a commitment that is related to the requirement of zero energy value of buildings. Therefore, from 2020 December 31 newly constructed buildings must have almost zero energy value. The obviously increasing changes in climate change should also determine the choice of buyers, prioritizing not traditional, but ecological housing. Such a trend should promote an increase in the demand for green housing and sales growth in the future. A literature review and a multi-criteria assessment method TOPSIS were used to achieve the research objective. The results of the study showed which city in Lithuania has the highest sales of ecological housing and which electronic media are the most effective for achieving this goal.
