Problems of road construction process improvement in the context of circular economy

Although the circular economy is no longer a new idea, this pattern of sustainable consumption has been gaining ground recently increasing potential and creating the potential for a greener future. The implementation of the circular economy model aims to reduce the amount of waste and the use of resources through advanced product design and product reuse use and repair, recycling, sustainable use and innovative business models. The road construction sector covers a large part of the construction sector. The construction sector accounts for 7.6% of the country’s GDP. The total Lithuanian road network reaches as much as 86 thousand. km. Lithuania is a European road transport corridor from east to west. Therefore, the improvement of road construction processes in the context of the circular economy is necessary. The expert study identifies problematic processes in road construction production in the context of the circular economy.
