Abstract

FinTech companies use the latest and most advanced technology to offer financial services at a better value and at a lower cost. A global pandemic can accelerate the introduction of new technologies and foster innovation, and can open up new opportunities for certain businesses as social isolation prevails around the world, leading to a significant increase in the use of digital financial services. The aim of the study is to assess the impact of the global pandemic on the FinTech sector. The object of the research is the influence of Covid-19 on FinTech companies. The article uses an analysis of scientific literature, a multi-criteria evaluation using the EDAS method, which assesses the economic capacity of the Baltic and Scandinavian countries before and during the Covid pandemic. The results of the study help financial technology entrepreneurs and investors make the right decision on whether it is worth investing in the FinTech sector during a Covid pandemic.
