Trends and tendency in the digitalization of the manufacturing process in the apparel and textile industry

Companies which want to remain competitive, it’s important to respond appropriately to modern industrial opportunities and trends. Globally, digitalization has become an important phenomenon transforming production and its potential for efficiency. Apparel and textile companies have the potential to digitise many elements of production due to fast moving advanced digital technologies. This factor makes it possible to increase production efficiency, reduce costs, ensure the quality of products and services and maintain a competitive company in the context of globalisation. The aim of the study is to assess the trend, tendency and possibilities of digitalization in manufacturing processes in the apparel and textile industry. On the basis of scientific literature, the article analyses, the concept of the production process, the specificities if digitalization in the apparel ant textile sector. Comparative analysis will be used to distinguish the trends in digitalization of the production process of Lithuanian textile companies and their impact on the efficiency of enterprises have been investigated.
