Abstract

The aviation sector is currently being hit hard by a global pandemic. This factor has forced management decisions to protect against or mitigate global impacts. One of the most important and most affected aviation sectors is airports. The article discusses Lithuanian airport management solutions used to manage the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first part analyzes the strategic management process. The second part presents an overview of the SE Lithuanian Airports Strategic Plan for 2021-2024, distinguishing strategic decisions in aviation and non-aviation activities, as well as presents the planned management solutions in case of threat to business continuity. The third part analyzes the statistical data found in the analysis of the strategic plans of the Baltic airports. These data are compared and the effectiveness of decisions is determined as to whether the management solutions chosen were effective in maintaining airport operations. Finally, the analysis assesses whether the decisions taken were effective in the continuity of airport operations.
