Abstract

The article analyzes production process, principles and challenges of Lean management system implementation in manufacturing companies, as one of possibilities for efficiency improvement. The production process consists of several elements, where certain elements can be inside and outside the company. In order to identify which area has to be effective, company needs to understand all the elements of production. The article analyzes one of the element - the supply chain, as an example of how many different processes production has. The article presents an approach to Lean system as a way to improve operational performance and achieve better organizational results. Lean application experience shows that Lean is difficult to integrate successfully. Although even if there are many good examples, companies still faces some problems and challenges in implementing Lean system. It takes a long time, requires considerable financial and human resources. Lean is a system that depends on the methods, field of activity, human effort and behavior. It covers all aspects of the process, so the process of integration has to be undertandable itself. The aim of the article is to analyze possibilities of improvement in the field of resource management in manufacturing companies and to adapt improvement methods in order to make production more efficient. Research method – analysis of scientific literature.In order to identify difficulties of implementing Lean management system, companies should conduct an analysis of implementation Lean system, comparing the practices of companies with similar fields of production.
