The causes of accidents in the construction industry and their statistical analysis

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the causes of the accidents in the construction industry worldwide and in Lithuania. While using work related accident assessment methodology, Lithuania‘s and United Kingdom‘s statistics are compared and evaluated each countries ongoing policy‘s efficiency through number of accidents at work per 100 000 workers. After analyzing the statistics in the article, we can see that Lithuania is lagging behind the number of accidents in all European Union countries. This shows that the policy of occupational safety and health in Lithuania does not produce the desired results.
