The furniture production and export development under economic globalization

Abstract

One of the oldest industries in Lithuania is the wood processing industry. It is relevant to search, examine and analyze how to improve this important Lithuania‘s industry because its added value in the country contributes to economic and social well-being. The object of the article is furniture production and export under the conditions of economic globalization. The purpose of this article is to survey and summarize the theoretical concept for making reasonable economic decisions focused on furniture production and export under the conditions of economic globalization. The following related tasks are being solved: to present a theoretical study detailing furniture industry and export development under the conditions of economic globalization; to find out theoretical preconditions for purposeful development of furniture production and export; to assess the dynamics of the development of Lithuanian furniture production and export for the period of 2007–2016. The following research methods have been used in the article: a scientific literature analysis, a matching method for theoretical and practical statements, a statistical analysis, a graphical representation of data.
