Problems and perspectives of a wood recycling industry

Abstract

The article analyzes key wood business sector development problems and opurtinities considering climate change, ecological changes as well as energy resource supplies. Main exporters of wood products – USA, Russia, Sweden and Finland have been comprehensively evaluated to determine key external factors, growth models, environment protection problems, business changes and success cases of the industry. The work presents wood industry situation in Lithuania, most pressing business development problems and provides suggestions for harmonious business development that match current market tendencies. In a short term wood recycling business can be developed by applying wasteless manufacturing model, taking advantage of automation in manufacturing, using renewable energy and alternative materials.
