The significance of generation Y employees and organizations conformity to job satisfaction

New generation of employees, so called Y generation, which is defined as well educated, fluently using information technologies, oriented towards achievements and expecting attention has been entering labor market. It should be noted, that this generation comprise one of the fastest growing market segments. For the members of that generation it is common to change work place. Therefore, employers, aiming to retain the members of that generation, have to take into consideration the needs of these employees. One of the preconditions, ensuring work satisfaction of employees and loyalty to organisation is appropriate organisational culture. Hence, employers, aiming to retain good specialists, develop favourable organisational culture, which is especially significant in assuring business productivity and efficiency. The paper investigates the impact of employee-organisation fit on retention of employees and work satisfaction. Considering peculiarities of Y generation employees, the objective of the paper is to reveal the impact of employee-organisation fit on work satisfaction. The research is grounded on analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, investigating the issues of different generations, the fit of employee-organisation and work satisfaction. The paper integrates various scientific studies and provides recommendations for future scientific research.
