Road and railroad interaction in organzing international shipments

Abstract

The aim of the article – by using the method of analysis of the scientific literature show that road and railroad interaction contributes to the promotion of intermodal transport. It is rubricate into the four parts, first of all there is an analysis of the concept of transport modes interaction and need of it. In the second and third parts – benefits, importance and opportunities of road and railroad interaction, and the fourth part is about the most important aspects of the EU transport policy to the greening of transport. Analysis of literature confirmed that the role of transport and environmental pollution issues importance will grow. That is why environmentally friendly vehicles and the latest logistics solutions, intermodal transport will be encourage. In the end of the article are the recommendations for further researches and conclusions, which summarized achieved results.
