Theoretical aspects of building information modeling (BIM) system

Abstract

Information technologies and innovations are gaining popularity extremely fast in the enterprise as well as in state, in pursuance of business processes, so it is important to save time and limited resources, for this reason there is a need for changes and in the construction sector. For several decades an innovative system is taking place in the world, it will help thanks to saving time and resources to develop construction, based on digital technologies, known as building informative modelling (BIM) in the digital space. The article gives an overview of theoretical aspects of the building information modelling system. Overview provided is related to the experience of foreign countries in implementing BIM system in the construction sector. Advantages and disadvantages of BIM system usage are published in the article, as well as the benefit of this system for Lithuanian market participants.
