Abstract

Globalization, technological change, changing consumer demand, increased competition, economic and political change requires leaders to act proactively, to take on increasing risks and choose appropriate strategies. It should be noted that the strategic and management theorists and practitioners in their work very much focused on the company's competitive advantage and its maintenance. In related scientific fields, such as economics, research allowed to assert the existence of a long-term advantage maintenance assumptions, because most of the business outcome drifting toward the average result, some firms manage to resist this trend. On the other hand, formed the opinion that such results can be obtained quite rare and are characterized by transience. In some industries or business sectors particularly fierce competition and rapid technological change adversely affects the competitive advantage. In addition, it is agreed that previous studies identified the long-term advantages to the company, it is likely there were many advantages achieved short time.
