Abstract

The healthcare system in Lithuania faced with limited financial resources. However, no country is able to cover all costs of healthcare. Exactly the optimal use of these limited resources is one of the countries healthcare system’s goals. The article analyses the Compulsory Health Insurance Fund (CHIF), Lithuanian health system, presents CHIF revenue and expenditure formation, analysis and its changes of 2008 - 2012 m. Conclusions and suggestions are presented after analysing the theoretical and practical aspects.
