Abstract

The paper describes a detailed analysis of Vilnius cities’ urban systems and its relevance, as well as the factors that determine modal choice. Statistical overview of population mobility and automobilization rate. The relevant objective and subjective reasons, which hinder the development of cycling infrastructure in the intermodal transport system are analyzed. In order to identify key issues, it was decided to carry out a comparative analysis of the transport system to examine the growing popularity of bicycles and trends to provide specific solutions and strategies safe and convenient cycling infrastructure in Vilnius. Traffic forecasting method was used, calculating the expected passenger vehicles and cyclists rates Fusion method was also used - is proposed to introduce isolated bicycle tracks in Vilnius, separating them from other road users.
